Pinks All Out Announces 2010 Schedule: Large Venues Abound

Pinks All Out has been a smashing success for the SPEED Network over the last few seasons. The show, which grew out of the original Pinks series, takes 400 racers at each track and boils them down to a field of 16 cars which then race heads-up in eliminations. Aside from some corniness involving the guys who host the show, it is mandatory gearhead weekly viewing.

Here’s the release and schedule for Pinks All Out 2010:

SPEED, the definitive network for high-performance competition and the automotive lifestyle, announced its 2010 live event production schedule for PINKS All Out, the popular grassroots drag racing show hosted by Rich Christensen. Entering Season Four, the network has expanded to 13 events (previously 10) for the first time in its history.

The season starts at Palm Beach International Raceway on March 6 making its initial appearance at the newly renovated, multi-purpose motorsports facility since Feb. 2007. Live production wraps up at picturesque Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix on Nov. 20 – a week after NASCAR visits the area.

PINKS All Out will be traveling to some of the largest drag racing venues in the United States for Season Four, including its inaugural visit to Chicago and International Speedway Corporation’s (ISC) Route 66 Raceway on June 26. Also on the schedule will be visits to three Speedway Motorsport’s (SMI) tracks in zMAX Dragway @ Concord (N.C.) (April 24) – site of the show’s historic first nationally televised four-wide drag racing competition this past season – Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. (Sept. 18) and Bristol (Tenn.) Dragway on Oct. 2.

Dallas Raceway (March 27), Virginia Motorsports Park (June 5) and Heartland Park Topeka all appear on the show’s live shoot schedule for the first time in 2010. The latter two had previously hosted multiple episodes of the original show, PINKS, prior to its shuttered production in late 2007.

Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pa. (May 15), Bandimere Speedway (Aug. 14), Summit Motorsports Park (Aug. 28) and Houston Raceway Park (Oct. 16) all re-appear on the schedule after hosting PINKS All Out shoots during Season One or Season Two, respectively.

“We are fired up here at SPEED to be expanding the PINKS All Out schedule for 2010,” said Hunter Nickell, SPEED President. “The show has really hit a nerve within the grassroots drag racing community, and we think this is the perfect time to continue the show’s growth. Not only do we add four great new venues, but we also return to places that have established a history of hosting and promoting big drag racing events.”

PINKS All Out enters Season Four having visited 28 different drag strips throughout the United States since its debut at the Texas Motorplex back on Labor Day weekend of 2006.  Each event combines large-scale television production with the sites, sounds and atmosphere of a live drag racing experience. It’s a full Saturday worth of entertainment, including two time trial sessions, a final 16-car shootout and a full roster of drag racing exhibitions. When not in the stands, fans can experience the SPEED Mobile Theatre, purchase officially licensed PINKS All Out merchandise, enjoy a merchant’s midway and take in a variety of family oriented activities. Fridays of event weekend are reserved for racer registration and a pre-event ‘test n’ tune.’

The hour-long program currently airs on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET as part of the network’s ‘Big Block Thursday’ trio of SPEED originals. Season Four is expected to premiere in July of 2010.

“The expansion of the PINKS All Out schedule to 13 events next season begins the newest chapter in the ongoing evolution of the series,” said Robert Ecker, SPEED VP of Programming & PINKS All Out Executive Producer. “From the earliest days of the original PINKS’ ‘Lose the race, lose your ride’ concept, the show has always been about people; that’s been the constant. Many other things have changed along the way, but this has remained the same. The hundreds of racers and thousands of fans that support these events provide the energy that powers the entire endeavor. They generate the content and we capture it in high definition. It is their enthusiasm and passion and sheer love of the sport that makes this all work.”
