Project Car Spotlight: A Mean, Green, 428 Powered, 1967 Fairlane Sedan

BangShift forum member Stage1Scott has been wrenching on his 1967 Ford Fairlane project for some time now, and the progress has been fun to watch. Scott sold a 455 powered Buick Skylark that he had owned for more than 20 years to buy this project. Recently he put the bad ass 428ci Ford mill he built on the dyno and the numbers came back strong.

The only thing better than fast is big and fast. A confirmed 464 hp and 488 ft/lbs of torque are plenty to take care of the speed end of the deal. Scott did a great job putting the motor together and he’s hoping for 11-second pump gas time slips and 10-second glory when he hits it with some spray.

Scott started with a solid roller that was already ‘caged and he’s been wrenching from there. This Ford has a lot to live up to as the Buick was cruised, raced, and thrashed all over the country in the 24 years Scott owned it.

We dig the hell out of this big car, and when it is pulling the front end on the strip, we’ll be green with envy!
