How To Build A Custom: 1957 Packard Tail Lights On A Chopped 1953 Chevrolet For A Complete Transformation To Full Custom

Tail light swaps are common on 1940s and 1950s cars that are being built into customs. And in fact, some of the tail light swaps are common enough that they aren’t even considered extreme when it comes to building one. But if you are building a car like this 1953 Chevrolet and you want it to be a full on custom, you are going to have to step up your game. The Hardcore Fab crew has been working on this one for a while and they’ve done a ton to it to make it a true custom, but this is next level. Check it out.

Just to bring you up to speed on this thing, here are some of the mods already done. They’ve chopped it several inches, removed body lines, frenched headlights, swapped out window openings, and smoothed a bunch more. But what about those tail lights?

At some point, someone installed Oldsmobile tail lights in this thing, which is a relatively common and mellow swap, but the rest of the back of this car needed some real help and so a set of 1957 Packard lights were chosen to lengthen the quarter, make a real statement, and ultimately reshape the entire rear of this car to go from boring to bad ass.

Check out the video below.

Video Description:
