The Khaos Design Stout build is something truly special because literally every piece of sheet metal is being customized in some way, shape, or form. The talent being shown in this series is also something special, and she really shows the detail so that we can all get a better grasp on the methods and techniques needed to be this creative. I love the look, the methods, and the results and can’t wait to see the rest of this project come together.
If you’ve never seen a Khaos Design or Stout Metalcraft video, then you are missing out on a builder who has some serious metal shaping and design skills. The most recent build she’s doing is a 1964 Toyota Stout pickup. We haven’t shared the entire build, although we might now, but we did share the video from her where she shows off the firewall build. This thing is unbelievable in that she does such simple designs that look amazingly trick, and are so well executed.
If you don’t find this video both educational and inspiring, then you are missing the point. There are also some cool tricks here, that she doesn’t talk about, but that you good observers will undoubtedly catch.
Can you see it in the video. Watch and let us know what you think.

Video Description:
In this episode I begin by showing the process of removing the front structure and how to duplicate it using mostly a bead roller and shrinker/ stretcher. You will see how critical the patterning process is to be able to make a part that fits up like the original.
I then move onto the roof chop in the front by sectioning the A pillars 50mm. I make sure to stagger the joins for strength.
I then show a little bit of footage from cutting the glass. This was my first time and it was on an old windscreen. It ended up cracking where the glass has the most curve. It will do as a template for now and I’ve got a new one coming and will try again.
