Radiators are a whole different animal compared to any other metal fabrication, and I can tell you from first hand experience that they are pretty involved to assemble. The principle behind them is pretty simple with fins, tubes, and tanks, but connecting all of them require understanding heat, science, and thermodynamics. If you haven’t seen radiators go together in the factory, I can tell you that it is a pretty fun thing to see.
If you want to see how radiators go together for yourself, CLICK HERE to check out video from our tour of U.S. Radiator 14 years ago! They were integral in the cooling system for our 48 Hour Camaro build and we had a great time hanging out with the crew watching radiators go together.
Video Description:
95% of the people I spoke to said this couldn’t be done. That only gave me the green light to try. We cut two inches out of an original Walker radiator to fit between the ’32 rails on our ’28/’29 Ford Roadster. It took an extreme amount of work, but the result was rewarding and very satisfying.
