The Barra/Granada Project, Part 3: Feeding The Granada’s Newfound Appetite

At no point does feeding a green-top Ford Barra with the basic setup out of a Ford Granada seem like a good idea. The Granada is about as far from anything with a Barra as you can get while you still have “FORD” on the nose of the car. The Barra utilizes the latest and greatest technologies, while all you needed to fix the Falcon Six that the Granada came with from the factory was a flat-head screwdriver and a big enough rock. The channel might be called “Fuel Injection Sucks” but it doesn’t make sense to ditch fuel injection on an engine that makes fantastic use out of it, does it? The Barra needs the proper setup in order to function happily…or, at least, it needs the right amount of fuel pressure at the line for the injectors to be content and the engine to run worth a damn.

It’s surprising how straightforward this swap has proven to be. Unfortunately, that will end with the intake manifold, which is still a work in progress, but if you want to really grasp just how well things have been going on this build, here’s your answer: you’re gonna hear the first crank in this video. It won’t fire, but when you’re to the point of spinning the engine over to verify functionality, you’re closer than you think.
