(Photos by David Whealon) – There are certain events that really define the value and love of motorsports Americans have. The Pinetops 300 is one of them. A tiny town hosts one of the coolest pulling events in the USA. They literally shut the town down, give over their streets to the rigs and the tractors, and some of the nations nastiest pulling iron hooks in the shadow of a baseball field. What’s more American than that?!
As much as we love the early spring part of the racing season it is this time of the year when the locomotive builds full steam in the boiler and things rip down the tracks on a torrid pace. Our own David Whealon who shot these photos will be blasting images of another big pull this weekend and he’ll be loving every second of it. Drag racers will be pounding strips all over the country, the stock car guys are on kill, and the World of Outlaws are at it. Do those guys ever stop racing?
Chad will be LIVE this weekend from Denton, Texas at the RTRA Radial Rebellion event and we’re guessing many of the gearheaded readers here at BangShift have their own plans to quench their thirst for speed either in a driver’s seat or a prime spectator location.
