Racing Junk Find: A Badder Asser, Steel-bodied, 1930 Ford Truck

Racing Junk Find: A Badder Asser, Steel-bodied, 1930 Ford Truck

This screaming yellow 1930 Ford truck caught our eye while we were cruising the electronic pages of RacingJunk.com. The truck is packing a tunnel rammed small block Chevy engine, and aside from the fenders, the body is all steel. The body has been altered a bunch with nine inches of length having been hacked off, three inches chopped out of the roof, and the body has been channeled four and half inches down over the frame. All those modifications add up to a truck that has an awesome, agressive, in the weeds stance.

The truck is caged but there is no information regarding race track performance, so we’re guessing that there have not been any drag strip squirts made as of yet. The small block with the tunnel ram is cool, but we’d jettison that thing like bad mayo in place of an 8-71 huffed big block. To go with the larger mill, there would be more tire out back. There’s still lots of room in those big rear fenderwells.

Oh, and we’d also de-yellow the interior. Those racing seats, yellow wheel, and yellow door panels are way too much French’s mustanrd overload for us.

There are some cool hidden touches involved with this thing as well, like the use of 1941 Ford springs up front and just some nice detail work in the overall finish of the truck.

So what say you, ditch the small block or rock that tunnel rammed mouse?

id keep the small block, find a single plane intake for it, and put a hood on it.

    and then paint it, obviously

Its real close to having a 60’s gasser vibe. Leave the body and interior alone, stick some torque thrusts or cragars on it and 60-ize the motor and its good to go. maybe even some yellow lexan for the side and back window.
