Sure, there are may ways to skin the proverbial road racing cat. In our opinion, there’s no cooler way than to do it in something with V8 power, a killer chassis, and racy looks. This used Panoz we found on RacingJunk.com fits the bill, in spades. As a bonus, it seems like a hell of a deal!
The Panoz company has been building race cars and road cars since the early 1990s. This car is a Panoz GTRO, and the good news is that we have no idea what the means. What we do know is that the car has a carbureted LS2 engine, a tube chassis, fully adjustable suspension, and all sorts of zooty race car stuff that adds up very quickly if one were to build this car or buy it new. Basically, you are buying a pretty awesome little race car here for just over $20,000. Not chump change, but when seen as a whole, it sounds like a great price to us.
The LS2 is dry sumped, bolted to a Tremec 3550 trans which is backed up by a gool ol’ Ford 9-inch rear end. The front suspension has adjustable A-arms, and Koni coil overs. There are Konis out back as well along with a Watts linkage. There are adjustable sway bars front and back, too.
There’s also a passenger seat so you can scare the sweet screaming daylights out of any takers!

The GTR-1’s are MUCH cooler.
cut some holes for headlights, put in some turn signals, street tires, and some exhaust. Wonder what it would take to get a street title…
