We’ve actually known about this for a couple weeks, but haven’t said anything but now Racing Junk is spreading the word. So, out with the news. RacingJunk, one of the premier race and hot rod parts classified sites on the internet, is now a part of Internet Brands. Haven’t heard of Internet Brands? Yes you have, you just may not have known it. They own LS1Tech, CollectorCarNation, and a bunch of forums and such. Owning over 100 forums and e-commerce sites worldwide is great, but what does this mean for RacingJunk?
Honestly, we aren’t sure, but we expect that it will be business as usual over at RJ. We can’t imagine that Internet Brands would want to screw up the good thing they have going over there already, so I’m sure RJ will continue to be a great place to find parts, cars, rigs, and more. They do have a Product Manager and General Manager position available with RacingJunk now, so we are fairly sure that some of the top guys are now drinking MaiTais in Florida rather than working, but we can’t confirm that. I don’t think this will be a good thing…
It’ll be fine, the coolest part about the internet is if a good site gets screwed up; it provides avenue for another site to spring up and take the loser sites cookies
Hope this wont change the social and sales pages on junk! Its a great site!
Anything Internet Brand touches turns to shit. Oh well.
My guess is the current voluntary payment for ads placed model will change to a fixed fee deal. Once that happens, the number of ads placed will collapse.
