Redline Motorsports to Build ZLR Camaro – Special Edition of ZL1 With Styling and Performance Upgrades

Redline Motorsports to Build ZLR Camaro – Special Edition of ZL1 With Styling and Performance Upgrades

The Camaro ZL1 is the hot topic du jour among fans of domestic performance cars. While they are just starting to roll out of the factory doors up in Canada, companies like Redline Motorsports are already in the business of hot rodding them. You have probably heard about Redline before this announcement, as they were the company tapped to build the continuation Motion Camaros by Joel Rosen a year or so ago. They have also been super tuning and upgrading new cars for some time. Recently, the guys at Redline escaped the cold climes of New York and relocated their shop to Florida. This ZLR Camaro will be the first project coming out of their new digs.

While the Redline guys do not make any direct horsepower claims in the below announcement, they do reference the upcoming 650 hp Mustang GT500 that Ford will debut in 2013, so we’re guessing that it will have more tire melting fury mounted between the front fenders than the Ford does. Since we have heard of Redline cars making more than 1,000hp, rest assured that these guys know how to tune and upgrade factory iron for maximum output.

Pompano Beach, Florida—Redline Motorsports is proud to announce its latest special edition new vehicle, ZLR. This high-performance Camaro is based on the ZL1 model due in showrooms shortly. “We are moving our shop to Florida and our first project is the design and build of the ZLR. It is a pumped up ZL1 with over 750 hp and a refined muscle car look,” comments Howard Tanner, the President/CEO of Redline Motorsports and driving force behind the company’s current line of high-performance vehicles known as HTR and Motion Performance. He continues, “we’ve been successful with the launch of the Motion Performance continuation series of high-performance vehicles last year as well as our HTR line of Camaros that went on sale through a Chevrolet dealer two years ago. The ZLR program fits nicely in our lineup as Chevrolet has designed a great platform for us to elevate the ZL1 to an even higher standard.”

Shown here are renderings of the unique look that will be exclusive to the ZLR nameplate. The wheels have been designed and are already in production as is the engine development. Due to Chevrolet production schedules the Redline Motorsports ZL1 test car will be delivered soon and the body parts and pieces will go into the pre-production design stage once it arrives. Tanner is no stranger to the world of GM performance engines, “we’ve been working with GM EFI engines since the mid ‘80s with the C4 Corvette and it has carried through to the LS market.” Redline’s extensive experience in dealer-sold vehicles and the aftermarket customization and calibration has opened the door for it to deliver exciting vehicles. The ZLR is the natural progression, Tanner explains, “most of our builds with the HTR and Motion Performance series have been 700, 800, and even 1,000 hp supercharged combinations. Durability and reliability are important because each car carries a warranty through the dealer.” He concludes, “the ZLR is not a challenge but rather a compliment to our other supercharged cars and will still retain its ZL1 heritage.” Redline’s ZLR is set to hit dealerships summer 2012 and with the forthcoming 650 hp Shelby GT500, the ZLR is ready to take the fight to the new Ponycar.

About Redline Motorsports

Howard Tanner’s passion for Corvette performance, which began in the mid-80s, paved the way for Redline Motorsports, a focused high-performance specialty shop with a concentration on LS-powered modern GM vehicles. Redline has become a multifaceted operation that is broken down into several segments. One division handles the design, build, and sale of special edition Camaro, Corvette, and Cadillac performance cars through its Performance Dealer Build Program. Each build has fallen under the HTR Series banner or Motion Performance label; each have been exposed and tested in print magazines and across the digital world. The company also specializes in all aspects of high-performance from bolt-on parts to supercharger and turbocharger installation and full vehicle builds. The final element of Redline consists of its custom PCM calibration services and in-house chassis dyno testing.

    OOOOooops !

Redline is gonna have a heck of a time building much of anything based on the ZL1

Seeing as how Chevy/GM just put a hold on ALL production till further notice , due to ” Quality ” issues

Ahhh yes . Government Motors ……. same old tricks … different day

Maybe Redline can focus on the Vette or just a plain ol Camaro instead . No reason for them to suffer
