By the time that Thursday and Friday roll around on Hot Rod Drag Week, knuckles are bloody, sleep has long since stopped being part of the equation, and the brotherhood and camaraderie that the event is known for is in full swing. Where the galleries we ran yesterday center around racing, these galleries show a lot more photos of legs sticking out from under cars.
Driveline components like transmissions, axles, and drive shafts, have been beaten and spun to their breaking point multiple times already and our experience with the event is that there is an initial wave of breakage very early on, a lull, and then a second torrent of broken stuff late in the game.
The games officially begin in a couple of days and we’ll be there for every mile of the ride, every moment of the thrash, and every second of the strip action.
