One of the busiest and most hectic weeks in the life of RideTech’s commandant, Brett Voekel has ended. Brett shepherded the awesome “Velocity” 1967 Camaro through the auction process at Barrett Jackson and by the results, it seems he did a heck of a job. The car sold for $155,000 during prime time bidding on Saturday night.
What a lot of people don’t understand is the whole business of selling a high profile car like Velocity is a lot of work! There’s the first issue of dealing with tens of thousands of people worth of foot traffic, then comes speaking with hundreds of people who don’t have the cash of inclination to buy the car but want to talk about it, they are closely followed by a few fist fulls of people who have the scratch and may be interested in passing. Finally, there is a small core group of people who are actually going to bid on the car and want to know every last detail (and for the money, they need to!). As a seller it is very important to make yourself available to those truly interested parties because once the lights comes on and the car hits the stage, it is game on. The impression they have gotten from both the car and your description and detail of it will determine how hard and high they are willing to bid on the machine.
Between all that craziness, Brett managed to provide awesome daily updates all week long. Hit the links below to see the Barrett Jackson auction from the inside out, one day at a time!
