Driving on Rt 66 is something that should be on every gearhead’s bucket list. Sure it isn’t exactly the same as it was back in time, but it is still plenty cool and has some really great pieces of Americana to experience.

One of the reasons that the road is so revered and loved is that it has been used as the backdrop for some memorable movies and television shows. We ran across a piece on the Redlands Daily Facts newspaper website that goes into some of the history of the road on the big and small screen.

We spent some time on the road as kids during a family vacation and it still ranks as one of our coolest memories. Even if you can only get there by movie, take the trip.
