All the buzz coming from the teams and people here at the 2014 PRO Winter Warm up has been super positive but there is one rumor that we heard in the pits today that has us bumming out, if it is true. We’ve been told by a couple of sourced that DragRaceCentral.com may not be long for this world. That sucks because the site is an incredible resource for round by round results and information from all kinds of races from the NHRA/IHRA and other sanctioning bodies as well as the sportsman divisional level competition that both of the organizations sanction. Drag Race Central has reporters that attend the races and publish results as they are happening at the track with cool commentary. They have a photo section, Bob Frey is a columnist for them and frankly during the drag racing season we live on that site.
The rumor mill is telling us that the site’s main sponsor has not renewed their backing for the 2014 season and the thrash is on to find a new partner or partners to keep the information, results, photos, and documentation of history coming. We tried to reach out to Rick Green of DragRaceCentral but he is currently out of the country on a vacation. When he returns to the USA we’ll hit him up for more details and information on the situation, which we hope is just a rumor. We feel like we’re speaking for all drag racing fans when we say that.
Stay tuned for more information on this situation when we get it.
bangshift, takes over.. and has/welcomes the reporters into the fold here..
they can’t be hurting to much if the owner can vaca outside the us
sigh……
Rick is gone from home almost every weekend from February through November, covering races for NHRA, IHRA, ADRL, X-DRL and still keeps the site updated.
He HAS been working hard since November to ensure a 2014 season and is finally able to take off a couple of days with his long suffering wife for a well deserved vacation before the 2014 season starts.
Don’t judge his efforts or the scope of the problem because he is “outside the US” [Not very far either!].
Seriously crazy, a guy can’t take a vacation, is he not allowed a life? Also Rick is not summit or who ever is the main sponsor. It is the sponsor potentially leaving dumb dumb, He is not going to fund what he does out of his own pocket. It is an awesome web site, the best in drag racing and needs to stick around
Larry Sullivan of Drag Race Central has posted the results from the Pro Warm-up.

Say it ain’t so! This site packs a punch for fans who can’t travel to the far off big races or afford them. I have flipped this link to many friends who got on board with the the cool up to the minute results for each and every round. I can even view and print results at work in the morning with a coffee-makes me look productive! Last year I thought the site needed a makeover now I’ll take anything and hope they can continue in 2014. Git-R-Done people.
Its such an important legacy for drag racing. I use it all season long. Hoping it does not flounder, that would be so unfortunate for all drag racing.
This would be a HUGE loss for the sport–and the press room! Hoping Larry and Rick can work something out to continue.
nhra doesn’t tell you anything of interest any like they moved on to bigger and better thing DRAGRACECETRAL KEEP most of the things of important going maybe a fan donation of a few buck once a year would as long as nhra doesn’t have any thing to do with it they would take the money and run like they have done before LJ
