he evolution of the pro touring world continues as there was some huge news released at the 2013 SEMA show regarding that scene. Our pals Jimi and Wally, along with support from companies like Optima, Lingenfelter, RideTech, and others have announced the creation of and schedule for a new racing sanction called the Ultimate Street Car Association. In 2014 the USCA will have a 10 even series that will see it visit some of the more famous and well known race tracks in the United States. From Laguna Seca to Sebring the USCA will be highlighting the most capable street legal performance cars known to man. The series does not discriminate between makes, models, brands, or years so the events should be an eclectic mix of newer performance cars, older muscle cars, exotics, and pro touring style builds. The Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational is the final event of the 2014 USCA season and we’re sure it will be crazier than ever with all of the additional events along the way.
So far we have learned that Optima will be the presenting sponsor of the series, RideTech will be the sponsor of the autocross portion of the events and Lingenfelter Performance Engineering will be the sponsor of the design challenge which has been expanded to make up about 25% of a competitor’s score at an event. They’ll be considering the way competitor’s cars are designed and engineered out along with a bunch of other factors. We expect a bunch more companies will be announced as sponsors on this series in the coming weeks. We’ll be back with lots more information in the coming days and week as well. This sounds like an awesome organization and we’re very familiar with the major players!
