You know you are a true gearhead when you can look at page after page of ancient automotive wheels and not only be entertained, but enthralled. When we got tipped off to a the website of AKH Vintage Wheels, we were admittedly slow in visiting because we’re idiots. How cool could it be, really? It is just a bunch of old wheels, right? Boy were we wrong, this is a heck of an inventory of cool old rollers and they’re ALL for sale, often with prices listed as “call us”. Know what that means? “Send us a wallet and your favorite child.” Once we laid our eyes on the literal treasure chest of pure awesome that AKH has in stock, we looked at every last page. This is proof positive that there are “retro” wheels and then there are original legit, period perfect wheels.
The coolest part of the site is the fact that they have all the wheels broken out by manufacturer and those that are aftermarket are divided up into aluminum, magnesium and steel. If you want to talk about rarity, know that they have real Atlas five-spokes that were made for 1969 Yenko modified cars. They have four of them and we’re guessing that they are worth about as much as a seaside cottage.
Amongst the factory wheels are steelies dating back to the 1930s all the way through rare 15×8 steel wheels used on Hemi and 440 powered Superbirds, GTXs, Cudas, Coronets, and Challengers.
Just browsing the aisles of this electronic superstore will leave you reminiscing about the days when many of these wheel designs were cutting edge and a “must have” automotive accessory!
