With all the craptastic talk lately of Chrysler teaming up with (aka selling its soul to) Fiat, we decided that it was time to reaffirm our faith in the brand by harking back to its most glorious past.

You can love it or hate it, debate its merits for days on end, but few engines in automotive history evoke the fanatical, emotional response that the classic Chrysler Hemi does.

History says that it dominated in just about every arena that it was allowed to compete in. Hemi-powered Barracudas and Darts are the most prized and revered of the NHRA Stock and Super Stock ranks. The engine was banned for a time in NASCAR competition. Refined derivatives power the highest tier nitro-burning drag race machinery on Earth.

The elephantine lump of cast iron causes pulse rates to rise and crowds to gather when it’s spotted under the bonnet of, well, anything.

The king is dead, long live the king. See it all at Chrysler’s own www.Hemi.com
