Site of the Week: The All Harley Drag Racing Association

The All Harley Drag Racing Association has been rattling windows, burning tires, and showcasing V-twin power for more than 30 years. It is one of the few single-make racing organizations that has not only survived, but flourished over time. Everything from street bikes to the wild Top Fuel Harleys can be found at their events.

If you have never seen a Top Fuel Harley, we’d recommend consulting the 2010 schedule when it is released and finding the tour stop closest to you and making the trip. These 225-mph motorcycles feature V-Twin motors making more than 700 hp. They carry the front tire to 1,000 feet and beyond while belching header flames. You can catch them at match races here and there but the AHDRA events draw upwards of 50 Top Fuelers at a whack. You’ll simply not see that anywhere else.

Like all drag racing events, there are a host of classes to cater to all different level of Harley and while it seems to go against logical thought, watching the street bikes can be big fun. Guys can really make the snorting and anachronistic motors and heavy bikes haul the mail. One thing you can be sure of if that the sound of an inline four will not touch your ears all weekend.

You can learn all about the organization and their events, as well as cruise a mind blowing photo gallery here.
