Aeromotive’s innovative line of “Stealth” fuel systems continues to grow and expand. The company recently announced that they are now offering a Stealth system for 2005-2009 Mustangs. The beauty of the Stealth is that it drops into and bolts directly to a factory fuel tank, while having the ability to support large by huge amounts of horsepower. The “base” kit which features an A1000 fuel pump can handle 1,000 flywheel horsepower in naturally aspirated applications and 1300hp in cars with forced induction. Stepping up from there, the big boy combo can handle 1400hp naturally aspirated and an astounding 1900hp for forced induction engines.
What sets these Aeromotive systems apart from others on the market is obviously the pump. Where others use hangers that drop into the tank and support multiple pumps, Aeromotive gets it done with a single. Where this becomes critical is when a potential failure happens. If a multiple pump system loses a third or half of its pumping capacity the car will still run. You’ll them melt the engine when you really get into it and the pumps cannot feed the engine properly. In the rare event of a pump failure with the Stealth system, the car simply will not run and you’ll not risk cooking the engine.

Its no secret that the Ford Modular Motor is big horsepower capable and that Mustang guys know what it takes to get them there. The fuel system upgrades in these cars have plagued enthusiasts since day one, but not any more…
No more expensive and risky multi-pump hangers, no cutting, drilling or hacking on your factory tank. Simply drop the new Stealth Pump right into your factory tank. Still uses your OE fuel level sending unit, lock ring and O-ring. The most innovative part… utilizes quick release fittings to connect right to the siphon system in the tank.

What you need to know
These in-tank pump designs are based off our popular A1000 and Eliminator fuel pumps. Same as their external counterparts, just in a different envelope. While they are “bolt-in” replacements for the factory fuel pump, they are not designed for use with a returnless system (factory). Meaning, you MUST plumb in a return line. There are many different ways to accomplish this, whether you run a new feed and return, or reuse the original factory line as 1 of your two lines. This pump will require and external regulator, usually in the engine bay. You can however use the factory fuel rails in desired. Refer to the parts list at the bottom of this page for recommended parts. If you have questions about plumbing, please call our tech lines at (913) 647-7300 or email at [email protected].
Why a single pump versus 2 or 3 in-tank pumps?
As the popularity of these modern muscle cars has grown, fuel systems have expanded as well. One of the most common replacement systems on the market features a double or triple fuel pump hanger. While 3 pumps will supply the necessary fuel this is still a band-aid, especially in convoluted applications like these. If one pump were to suddenly quit (which happens), the car will continue to run… until you put the engine under load or start to build boost. Suddenly you do not have enough fuel and usually will lead to a lean condition and catastrophic engine failure. With a single pump, if it were to have an issue or quit, the engine doesn’t run. No chance for a engine failure.
