It is a fair statement to make that racers are not born, they are made. Sure there have been a few select individuals with seemingly innate ability but for the most part great racers started young and worked hard to get where they are. AFCO Performance recognizes this and that’s why they just acquired Robbie Stanley Racing, one of the premier manufacturers of quarter midget racers in the world.
What’s a company like AFCO wanting with a quarter midget manufacturer? Simple. This is an investment in the future of racing and the future of their business. Quarter midget racing is hugely popular right now and it has been for many, many years. These cars are the literal proving ground for making tomorrow’s pro-level drivers and with AFCO now involved, we can be sure that Robbie Stanley Racing will remain at the fore of this ever-popular form of racing.
In the early days, the guy with the biggest stones won races. In the 1960s it was the guys with the stones and a little engineering ability. Today? Today it is the guy who started when he was five and has mastered his craft. This is where that journey begins.
