Chris Alston’s New Professional Grade Bolt On Drag Race Strut Clip For 67-69 Camaro And 68-72 Nova – For When You Absolutely, Positively, Have To Kick Everyone’s Ass All The Time

Chris Alston’s New Professional Grade Bolt On Drag Race Strut Clip For 67-69 Camaro And 68-72 Nova – For When You Absolutely, Positively, Have To Kick Everyone’s Ass All The Time

144lbs….not the weight of Chad’s beard hair, not the weight of my massive head, the weight of the new Professional Grade Bolt On Drag Race Strut Clip that fits 1967-1969 Camaros and 1968-1972 Novas. That’s not just the tubing, that is ALL OF IT…COMPLETE…WITH EFFING BRAKES. We’re talking the clip, the brakes, the struts, the steering rack, the motor plates, the works, and it all weighs in at only 144lbs. That’s sick and it is something that the skunkworks at Chris Alston’s Chassisworks is rightfully proud of creating.

Constructed from 1-5/8″ 4130 steel tubing, you can spec it so that your small block, big block, or LS-engine will fit and because the guys at Chassisworks are racers this piece was designed to handle tall deck engines with mondo heads on them as well. The engine will fit the clip and you’ll have great access for oil pan removal as well. Outside of the weight (which we’re still kind of freaking out about) is the fact that these come with double adjustable VariStruts, tubular control arms with 4130 rod ends, a billet aluminum drag race steering rack, and disc brakes with billet hubs, lightweight rotors, and aluminum calipers. Yeah, we just said that.

There are a multitude of options you can use to tailor this system to fit your car and the button below spells out literally every inch of this whole clip for you, including those various options. To us, the truly impressive part of this new product is the fact that Chassisworks (which already makes one of the best clips on the market for these cars) decided that good enough wasn’t where they wanted to draw the line.

We’re lucky that when we see this deal it is the complete product and it seems like the sprang forth from the Earth just like this but we know better. There are LOTS of hours modeling, designing, debating, and refining the design for a complete clip like this, especially one that has various options for different engines and brakes. Rather than us just blathering on for days about the innovative nature of this piece, we want you to check out all of the tech and backstory straight from the source at Chassisworks. They are the ones who dreamed it up and brought it to life so who better to fill you in on all the details.

Oh, and if you are currently racing a stock front clip 68-72 Nova or first gen-Camaro, go ahead nickname that sucker Porky because after you see this, that old junk looks like it should be holding up a bridge somewhere, not hampering your race car!

I want that for my Firebird, but would probably exceed it’s durability beating the crap out of it with a ton of street driving. =/
