Hedman Releases New Mid-Length Headers For Tri-Five Chevys — Have Your Flow And Ground Clearance, Too!

In today’s world of hot rod building, lower is better. Whether we’re talking about guys building cars with air suspensions that they dump at shows to lay the rocker panels on the ground or we’re talking about hard core pro touring builds that utilize an aggressive, low stance to maximize cornering ability, car builders need a header option that won’t see them smashing flanges and flattening tubes on every manhole cover they cruise over. Thankfully, Hedman has stepped up with a product directed at the 1955/56/57 Chevrolet crowd that handles just that issue. These new mid-length headers provide a best of both worlds scenario for builders doing a shoebox that want to get that tough, ground hugging look without having to go to drastic measures to fit it all under the car tightly. The mid-length header is tucked up so that exhaust pipes can also be run tight with the contours of the floor, ensuring a great level of ground clearance and far fewer headaches! We’re all about driving our stuff here, so any product that allows people to have a better functioning hot rod, we’re in for!

Whittier, Calif. (May, 2013) – When Chevrolet introduced its redesigned cars in 1955, it had no idea that these vehicles would eventually become some of the most iconic cars ever produced. But it wasn’t just the classic design that made these cars so iconic, the arrival of the “Shoebox” also marked the birth of the Small Block Chevy – an engine that would be seen in GM production cars and trucks for nearly a half century. While some enthusiasts love to drop in Big Block or modern LS-engines, the diminutive small block has, by far, the strongest following. Now, with the release of Hedman’s new mid-length headers, Tri-5 owners can get the most horsepower possible from their small block without having to worry about ground clearance.

Hedman’s mid-length headers are engineered to deliver maximum exhaust flow while maintaining a lower profile than traditional long tubes. With 1 ¾-inch mandrel bent primaries, these headers have the capacity to complement even the heaviest breathing naturally aspirated or supercharged small blocks. Hedman’s Tri-5 headers also feature an integrated ball-and-socket style flange collector to provide a durable, gasket-free seal. They fit floor shift automatic or manual trannies, provide enough clearance for use with the bigger 605 power steering box, and even allow for the use of angle plug heads.

These Tri-5 headers have beefy flanges that keep the mandrel-bent primary tubes firmly attached to the engine, even under harsh driving conditions. Hedman offers these headers in a choice of either uncoated (Part# 65007) or silver HTC high-temp ceramic-metallic coated (Part#66007) finishes (coating warrantied for 5 years). Mounting hardware, gaskets and installation instructions are also included with the headers. All Hedman Hedders are manufactured in the U.S.A., and are backed by a Lifetime Warranty.
