Every high performance car has its own specific needs. What works on a street machine that sees occasional drag strip duty may not be great for a car that gets pounded on at the road course or at autocross events with regularity. Knowing that, the men and women at Holley have come up with a great solution for oil control in the form of their new baffle kit designed for use with their very popular cast aluminum oil pan that is used for LS swaps in trucks, muscle cars, and lots of other stuff we haven’t even dreamed up yet.
The baffle kit is made of TIG welded high quality sheet aluminum that is equipped with directional trap doors to hold oil in the sump area during times of hard braking, cornering, spinning onto the grass, or drifting a corner. Not that you do those last two things on the track…much…or that you’d admit to anyone. That being said, this pan is designed to help your motor stay flush with oil when those hardcore racing situations are at hand. Hell, even if you are a drag racing guy running this pan, the baffle is a good idea as this baffle will hold oil in all directions. It isn’t just about left to right. When you hammer the throttle, all of the oil tries to make a break for the back of the pan. With this baffle, your pickup will stay deep in the black gold that keeps your LS motor living.
This is a neat part that addresses the specific needs of hot rodders who drive their junk and drive it hard. We’re all for that!

Check it out road race/autocross lovers! Holley Performance has released a new baffle kit for the current cast aluminum oil pan (part # 302-1) that is designed to retro-fit LS engines into trucks, muscle cars, and more.
Vehicles that endure prolonged sessions of braking, turning, and accelerating need extra protection from oil starvation. This oil pan baffle kit is designed to maintain proper oil level at the oil pump pick-up during vehicle accelerations, both lateral and linear. The baffle maintains the oil at the oil pump pick-up preventing loss of engine oil pressure during maximum cornering in a high-performance touring or road-racing, as well as under hard acceleration in drag racing vehicles.
The baffle is fabricated from sheet aluminum joined by TIG welded joints. Directionally positioned one-way trap doors allow oil flow towards the oil pump pick-up but not away. This baffle is designed to be used in the Holley P/N 302-1 LS Swap oil pan with the standard pickup, and is a drop-in replacement for the standard tray baffle.
