The high performance aftermarket industry has really never seen anything like the launch of Bootlegger cams before. The crew at Lunati has really taken this thing in a neat direction using concepts and media streams that camshaft manufacturers have never done before. Years ago, it would have been enough to plug some ads into magazines and then just sit back waiting for the phones to ring. In today’s world that’s not going to cut it and the Lunati crew has attacked this in ways that people have not considered before at virtually every turn. From the packaging of the cams in the cool, faux wooden box to the use of a great serial video series to break the name and the attitude of the line to the public, this has been forward thinking stuff the whole way.
The latest wrinkle in the Bootlegger story is a phone app that allows you to make wanted posters! This is fun, it is free, and like was said to us when someone sent the link along, we’re not at fault when you start making wanted posters of your kids, your dog, your wife (that may be dicey, proceed with caution) and whoever else you can think of. We have provided the links below for both Apple and Android users so you can snag the app and have some fun. All I know is that I am glad that smart phones were no equipped with decent cameras when I was in college because I would probably be on one of these posters actually committing some sort of low level idiotic crime. “No sir, not me….I was not just the guy doing this burnout in and otherwise empty lot with smoke still rolling off my tires. He went thataway!”
Click the links below, grab the app and begin to plaster the walls of your favorite social media sites with the wanted posters of people who have no idea they are coming, people who actually should be on them, or awesome comedic photos that “fit the profile”.
Kudos once again to the Bootlegger cams team for thinking out of the box and actually creating a campaign that strikes right at the heart of today’s interactive generation of hot rodders and wrench benders.
Let me send you my favorite 1″x8″ nut and bolt, I don’t need it anymore. You supply the pillow case. “People of Abington Mass., he’s coming!!!”
I vaguely remember something about a 9C1 Caprice somewhere on a website back in the day…
Last seen buried in snow.
It’s under the pile of leaves on the left side of the lawn.
what ever happened to old buford ???
Yea, seems like I remember a post about some white four door getting some more new parts and an update to follow, but that must be a different car because that was what seems like a hundred years ago. Is that the same car in the photo’s?
Life gets in the way sometimes.
We’ll see who is laughing tomorrow bitches. 🙂
See, this is why I love BangShift. What other car site has a fearless leader that refers to his readers as bitches, all while frantically brushing leaves off of his lawn ornament (Sorry, project car…) for an impromptu update?
Man, I’m going to get it for this one… 🙂
Boy oh boy. Looking like multiple darts have hit the bulls eye and a frantically assembled update might be forthcoming. Maybe.
This is the same guy who once referred to me as “The Patron Saint Of Automotive Lost Causes”.
Way to shut them up!
