Ridetech ’33 Ford Wins So Cal Challenge Series Season Opener With James Crosby Behind The Wheel

Team Ridetech was in full effect at the season opener for the So Cal Challenge Pro Touring Series. With the three fastest vehicles on site all Ridetech equipped, there was bound to be a dramatic finish, and we were not disappointed. Despite being the single fastest vehicle out there, a leaking injector O-ring slowed Rob McGregor and his No Limit Hell Boy C10, leaving it all on the table for Bret Campbell and James Crosby. Campbell was wheeling his familiar ’68 Camaro roadster and in the finals ran exactly the same time as Crosby in the ’33 Ford. There was only one good way to determine the winner, and that meant a shootout!

And a great one it was. With no times being announced, all in attendance were standing on the fence trying to guess at which one was quicker. In the end it was James Crosby who pulled off the win. The funny part is that Ridetech Owner Bret Voelkel, who had been watching the race live here at BangShift.com, had left his computer for a while and came back to find the event wrapping up. He sent Crosby a text asking how everything had went, and who won. When Crosby told him he had, Bret thought he was joking!

He was not. Congrats to Crosby and to Ridetech, and all the competitors that showed up for a great day of racing. It was BangShift central out there!
