Hot Rod Magazine’s Power Tour is something that began as a humble little event and has grown into a literal monster with thousands and thousands of participants, the famed “Long Haul Gang” and some of the neatest and most interesting cars in the country cruising along. It is also an event that let’s the automotive aftermarket get out of the office and hang out with their customers for the week, sharing their passion for hot rods, cars, and cruising together. At the end of the day, this is an adventure about enjoying our country, enjoying cars, and simply living life. The crew at RideTech knows it and they have been keeping on top of things with their live streaming coverage, give away contests, and all the fun they have had on the road.
Today they filed what we’re calling the RideTech Power Tour report and rather than us ramble on, you should read it below!

It’s been an amazing couple of days here on Hot Rod Power Tour 2016! On Tuesday, we headed out ahead of the crowd and made it to the venue in Grand Prairie, TX so that we could stream the participants entering the grounds. What a spectacular show! Hundreds of cars and trucks, over an hour’s worth of the most amazing vehicles in the country rolling in. The temperatures were perfect, overcast with a good breeze, and the spectators poured in, too! If you’d like to see some of these great cars as they drove by, check out our livestream footage HERE. |

Tuesday finished up on a hot note, and the temps held through our drive Wednesday morning and throughout the day. We’ve been seeing cars and trucks all week with multiple HRPT decals from various years, and the drive on Wednesday really showed us why this event brings so many back year after year; we found ourselves travelling with a group of hundreds of cars, and the feeling of cameraderie on the drive was spectacular. Popping over a hill and seeing cars of all colors lined out as far as you can see (literally!) in both directions is a really powerful sight!
We experienced record high temps at Wednesday’s stop in Oklahoma City, but that didn’t stop everyone from coming out and having one of the busiest midways so far this week! |
