Studebaker, Skoda, Jawa, and More Great Ads From the 1964 NY International Auto Show

Studebaker, Skoda, Jawa, and More Great Ads From the 1964 NY International Auto Show

The hits just keep on coming from the program we recently got our mitts on dating to the 1964 NY International Auto Show. We’re scanning the interesting old ads out of the book and posting them for your viewing pleasure. This dispatch goes off the beaten path a little (which follows the content you’ve already seen today!) and you’ll see ads from brands that bit the dust a long time ago like Jawa, Skoda (in the USA anyway), Studebaker, and MG. What’s really interesting about this book is that ’64 was the literal dawn of the muscle car era, with the GTO getting ready launch a revolution in Detroit that would carry it into the 1970s. Most of the ads don’t talk about horsepower, speed, or any of the macho stuff that others would in the following years. These are more quaint and fun.

Scroll down to see some stuff we’re sure you’ve not laid eyes on in years! (as usual, click on the ads to enlarge)
