The Right Combo: Watch This Supercharged Rolls Royce Meteor Powered Tractor Make A Full Pull

Once again we’re leering at a European pulling tractor with a freaking awesome engine combo and admiring the noise and the fury that it creates. In this case the tractor we are talking about is a Volvo BM Bison that has been repowered with a Rolls Royce Meteor engine that’s been enhanced with a pair of blowers and a couple of large by huge Dominator looking carbs. The engine sounds kind of weird at idle but once the throttle is employed to get the load moving, you really hear the glorious noise of the 27-liter V-12 in action.

The Rolls Royce Meteor was a tank engine that was used by the British for many years and well into the 1960s. It made about 600hp and 1,450 lb-ft of torque in stock form. With the blowers and who knows what else we’re guessing horsepower is 900+ and the torque number is to the better side of 2,000 lb-ft but that’s guess. We do know that the sled was absolutely no match for the tractor on this hook and that’s something that the fans likely loved. By the time this monster gets to them the engine is really working and it’s honking along pretty well for something this big hauling that heavy a load.

Meteor engines are not exactly common in the USA so this is a fun chance to hear one running in anger.
