A drill press is one of those tools that is invaluable when you need it, and forgotten when you don’t. Depending on what you work on in your shop, you may or may not use one a lot. Sometimes folks have benchtop models, but the floor models are usually the best and often not much more expensive than their smaller brothers. Regardless of which model you have, there are tons of accessories and such that can make them easier and better to work with.
In this video you are going to see some of Adam Savage’s mods to his drill press, including one that he doesn’t like, and then he’s going to make it more mobile which we totally approve of!

It’s also time to switch back to his old drill press table, as the one he installed last year isn’t working as well as he had hoped. And if you recall from the last time he took the drill press apart, getting this machine on its side to operate on it is no simple feat to do alone!
