Dave Chappelle Dirthead Shed Tire Reviews: Mud Terrains? All Terrains? What Works Best For What Application?

I’ve owned way more lowered 2wd vehicles than lifted 4×4 off-road rigs, but when I have had an off-road truck I most often like an aggressive tire. My favorite tire on my lifted 1992 Chevy was also a set of Super Swamper Radial TSLs. I had Boggers on it, and even Thornbirds at one point. But every time I ever went to a more sedate tire I was unhappy with the look, wear, etc. My 2000 Suburban on the other hand had a mild lift and was more of a prerunner style rig. I ran Falken Wildpeak AT2s on that truck and LOVED them. They rode nice, were quite, had tons of grip for what I did with it, and they looked right. Make no mistake, how they look matters too.

I have always hated a sedate looking tire on an aggressive rig, but a really gnarly mud terrain isn’t always necessary. So let’s look at the video below from Dave and see what he runs on his rigs, why, and how they work.

Video Description:

I have had the opportunity to run many different tires. Let’s go through the ones currently in my fleet and talk good, bad, and what I think they would work best on.
