Interior and paint are the two things that scare the hell out of me when it comes to building a car. I feel like I don’t have any practical experience with either one, which makes me scared to try either one. This project here could be the thing that changes that for me when it comes to interiors. It’s a simple center console, in a 1969 Chevelle that has had a nice interior installed already, but the simple console looks right at home in it once it is all done. I like it and feel like this is the kind of project I’d want to tackle first before going into something else more tricky or involved.
What do you think? Would you build something like this at home?
you’re always scared until you try. I was scared to try paint and body work. Just got an inexpensive gun and paint. First try and had to sand it back off, second time I leaned a few things and it worked. It was just my old truck, so it wasn’t a show piece. I’m ready to try again.
Sewing leather can be tricky, and you need a pretty heavy duty machine to do it.
