If you are like me, then you dream of having one of those super bad ass fixture tables like those available from Fireball Tools and several others. But those suckers are not cheap, and by that I mean expensive. I mean they are ultra bad ass, but not in my budget. Instead I think that a smooth top welding table with the right accessories and modifications could be good enough for your average fixturing needs.
One cool accessory is a magnetic clamp. Magnetic tools in general are often good for metal fabrication and companies like Stronghand Tools make all kinds of cool tools and holders that are magnetic or a combination of magnetic and clamping. But what if you could make a heavy duty magnetic base that held a clamp so you can fixture parts? That’s exactly what is being made in this video here, and they are pretty simple, easy, and cheap to make.
