Fabricating Custom X, Y, And H Pipes Isn’t As Hard As You Might Think

About 15 years ago exhaust system offerings from manufacturers started getting good. Not necessarily great, but good. Mandrel bent systems, for specific applications, became available from a variety of sources. Companies like Flowmaster created kits that bolted on, flowed well, and sounded bitchin. And these kits have only kept getting better and better, with fancier and fancier features. Features like H Pipes became standard and then they took them to the next level with X pipes and merges. But what if you have an application that needs something fancier, or that a kit doesn’t exist for?

In that case you have a couple of options. Your first might be to reach out to some of the companies selling individual exhaust components and then piecing them together to create the kit you need. But the second is to make some of these components yourself. And in this video from the Fabrication Series you’ll see that it really isn’t that difficult to make exactly what you need.
