I know a ton of you out there hate the thought of an EV pickup truck, but the reality is that the vast majority of people who own trucks don’t actually use them as trucks in the traditional sense. 75% of truck owners either never tow with them, or do so just once per year. And 65% of truck owners never put anything in the bed. And I’m not talking hauling bricks, I’m talking ANYTHING. So if most people don’t use their trucks for truck things, then why is everyone so up in arms about electric trucks? I would guess that most folks think that the number of EV truck buyers that are using their trucks like trucks would be even lower than with a gas or diesel powered truck, right?
Regardless of your thoughts on the EV truck subject, the American truck enthusiast has been very vocal about the short comings of the lightning since it was released to the public. Short comings. Get it? Anyway, people have bagged on the Ford F-150 Lightning a lot and now that the Silverado EV has been released I think it will be interesting to see how they stack up against each other.
Lucky for us, the folks at Motortrend put them through their paces recently. Or so they claim. Let’s see how they stack up and if they really did truck things with them or not.
