If you missed it the other day, we posted a video from Brent and Esther’s home shop, Halfass Kustoms, after a fired ripped through the building destroying everything. They were on the road, on their way home from a show in Texas, and still hours away from their place in Canada when it happened. If you missed that first video, use the link below to check it out. Luckily nobody was hurt, including their dogs Pablo and Buddy, but the shop is a total loss. Unfortunately, when things like this happen, you can’t just go in and start cleaning up because the insurance company has to do their thing and fire department reports have to be finished, etc, etc. For someone who’s lost everything, waiting to be able to see if anything survived is sometimes just as bad as losing it in the first place.
So here is the second video, where Brent is going through the building, and starting the cleanup, to see if anything survived. He has vowed to rebuild the shop, but there are lots of things that the insurance company will likely not be able to value, things that can’t easily be replaced, or that have more sentimental than cash value. This will likely be the hardest part for them.
Brent is a guy with an infectious laugh and a carefree attitude. He’s the one that constantly says that if he messes up on some metal shaping or fabrication, it’s no big deal because you can just cut it apart and weld it back together. It’s just metal. And he’s right. But this is going to be hard to laugh and smile through.
