Here’s What Happens When An Engineer Gets His Hands On An Old Bench Vise And Proceeds To Restore It

I’ve wanted to buy a giant old vise and restore it for years. A new big vise is super expensive, and as much as I’d worship a Fireball Tools Hardtail vise for my shop, I can’t afford them. They do have some other reasonably priced options, and I’ll probably get one at some point, but the idea of restoring something big and old still appeals to me. What do you guys think? Would you restore an old vise for your shop? Or is it just easier to go buy something and call it a day?

Video Description:

I didn’t have a vise in the new workshop, but thanks to ‪@RobinsTools‬ , I got my hands on this really old Garant L vise in good condition. So I restored it to its former glory and upgraded it to be the nicest vice ever!
