I’ve never sewn my own interior, but I know folks that have and my mom has sewn everything but car interiors since before I was born. So when I see a video like this one, where a new tuck and roll seat cover is being made for a 1947 Ford, it inspires me. And then there are channels like Halfass Kustoms, where Brent does his own interior work on his hot rods. It makes me want to get an industrial sewing machine just to see if we could make our own interiors. I can’t afford a real upholstery job, so I either need to stick with reproduction covers and door panels or I’m going to have to learn to do my own.
This tuck and roll seat cover is as traditional hot rod as it gets and I love the look in the right car.
Check out the video and let us know if this is something you’d think about tackling on your own project.
