DIY Motorized Trailer Dolly: Regular Stuff Made Into Something Handy!

Motorized trailer dollys are expensive! They are handy, and cool, and I’d love to own one, but they aren’t cheap and the ones that aren’t really expensive seem to be kinda cheapo. But why do you need one of these anyway? If you have trailers at home and have ever needed to move one over or get it through a tight space next to the garage or something, you know it would be handy to be able to do that without actually hooking up your truck. I can tell you that I used to store trailers next to our garage in a spot that was only 12 inches wider than the trailer. That meant it took two people to put it away because I couldn’t get out of the truck once I backed the trailer into its spot. If I had an electric trailer dolly I could have just walked it right on back.

There are plenty of times when having one of these would be really handy, and I’ve talked about building one myself for years. If you want to be inspired, just watch this one going together from parts and scrap. It’s cool.
