Jason at Fireball Tools is a badass, and you guys know I’ve been a fan of his products and videos for a long time. He thinks outside the box when necessary, improves the box most often, and is very analytical when it comes to justifying his methods and best practices when it comes to welding and fabricating. He’s long been a proponent of good fixture tables, with good being the operative word, and has given folks reason after reason for putting a fixture table into their own shop. Yes, Fireball makes and sells fixture tables, and yes he’s using one in this video, but he’s not saying you have to have his table even if it is the best. With that said, all kinds of professional welders bitched at him in his last video on why fixture tables are such a valuable tool. They bitched, because they said that they were professionals and had experience that would allow them to make the perfect part even if they didn’t have a fixture table.

I respond to your comments from a previous video where I was told professional welders don’t need the fixture table tool in order to create good weldments. So I went undercover and put that theory to the test, assigning 3 random fabrication shops the same frame plan to see how close to it they could get. Then, I challenge the results by putting somebody with no experience to the test with the best tool for welding: the fixture table.
