Metal Shaping: Flexible Shape Pattern Power – What To Do, How To Do It, And Why

Making flexible patterns for metal shaping is an amazing tool that will allow you to copy panels and create a pattern that not only tells you the dimensions of a part but also the shape and orientation. They take some skill to make but are a great way to create custom metal shapes. I like the way that Wray teaches techniques, and this video will show you how the flexible pattern actually helps.

Video Description:

This episode features an extended learning student from Canada named Ian. Ian has a 1959 MGA Twin Can and he wanted to learn how to make a pair of fenders. He has an English Wheel at home but he wasn’t very proficient with it which is why he came to ProShaper. Wray had him make a flexible shape pattern of the fender he already has and then off he went. You can see in the video how well his fender (or half fender) came out!
