If you are like me, you would love to have a giant old English Wheel in your shop. They look cool, work awesome when you know how to use them, and when you need one there is nothing better to use. But the big ones are expensive and take up a lot of space. I think building one would be awesome but the truth is I probably won’t ever need one that big and fancy anyway, so the smaller affordable units from Northern Tool and Harbor Freight are probably not a bad option. There are other options out there that fall in between these and the high end units, but if you aren’t sure that metal shaping is something you are into then maybe buying an affordable unit is the way to start.
