Plasma Cutter Buyer’s Guide – What Size Do You Need And Why? Here’s Eastwood’s Guide.

Plasma Cutter Buyer’s Guide – What Size Do You Need And Why? Here’s Eastwood’s Guide.

In the video below, Eastwood shares their Versa-Cut 20, 40, and 60 plasma cutters and tells you how to choose the right plasma cutter for your shop or garage. The specs found here can be used to decide between other brands as well, and will give you a good starting point for choosing yours. The keys to remember when looking at buying a plasma cutter are the thickness of the material you plan to cut, the environment in which you are going to cut, and what electrical power you have available.

The maximum thickness of the material you plan to cut determines the overall power of the unit you will need, but the other features depend on where and how you are going to use the machine. If you are going to be using the machine in a large area and don’t want to move the machine around inside the shop then you need to make sure you have enough cord length to get to the work piece. If you are going to be using it in a mobile environment then you need it to not weigh too much to carry. And if you are going to be working in a standard garage, or in a mobile environment where 220v isn’t always available, then finding a machine that runs on 110v, or better yet both, might be the right choice for you.
