This dude certainly didn’t take the easy way out in putting something extra special and cool in his 1976 Mazda RX-5, but the result is something pretty neat that you aren’t going to see every day. While we are used to seeing high tech gadgets in the latest from the OE’s, things like RFID door locks aren’t something you see in hot rods and muscle cars very often. This dude decided that while his time might be just as well spent doing other projects on his car build, this one was special to him. He goes in depth and full circle to build an RFID entry system for this old car and it is pretty cool how he does it.
Check out the video, and you too can learn every detail on how to make this happen.
Wow! Gonna be weird when he sells it to someone else.
I have been to car shows were owners roll up the windows on a shaved door car. And go to leave and the batt. is somehow dead. Can’t get in the car. I get and understand doing up your rod the way you want it,shaving the doors, power trunk and hood opener. But I don’t mind having a door handle that I know will open the door. So I guess I’m saying This is not my cup of tea. Sorry just not for me.
WOW and he’s single….
An hour and 7 minute video is a bit much for idle curiosity, but interesting tech.
This was bad ass until he embedded the RFID INTO HIS HAND.
