Rock Slider Fabrication: Custom Rock Sliders For This Cool Toyota Landcruiser. Build Your Own For Anything!

Dave is back at it, bending tube and welding stuff together to make all kinds of cool projects in the shop. He’s back to the off-road side of things after a couple of videos on his Mini Truck and the new Mustang II Project that is getting bagged. But in this video it is all about building a set of stout rock sliders for this cool Toyota Landcruiser project. If you aren’t an off-road, or more specifically a rock crawling,  enthusiast you might not know what rock sliders are. They are exactly what they sound like, which is something meant to slide across the rocks when you get the side of your truck into one on a rock crawling trail. Not only do they save the sheet metal underneath, but more importantly they keep that sheetmetal from grabbing the rock and stopping the rig. Instead, you can slide right across it and keep going. Works like a champ.

Rock sliders aren’t ultra trick usually, but sometimes folks at home make them from material that is either too light for their particular truck or too heavy for no reason. In this video you’ll see Dave show how to build a nice custom set that are functional, good looking, and will survive the torture they may endure on this ride.
