You know I have an affinity for welding tables and fixture tables around here and this is a super cool one that you can build at home no problem. It’s being built with some scrap stuff as you’ll see, but it easily could be built with readily available and inexpensive box tubing. In fact, if you really want to make it quick and easy you could order the steel from your local metal yard already cut to size which would save you a bunch of time and have you up and running in a hurry. It’s a simple slat style table that allows for an incredible amount of flexibility when it comes to clamping work to your table.
And because it’s a slat type it works with cheap and readily available clamps instead of requiring the pin style that can be expensive or will require you to build them from cheap clamps. I have to say, I’m as interested in these welding table projects as anyone because I’m planning to build two new welding tables in my shop and one will VERY likely be a slat style like this one. They are clean, simple, and very effective at keeping materials flat and true while you fabricate and weld them on your table.
Watch the video, be inspired, and make something cool at home this weekend!
Will we get a video tour of Chad’s shop someday?
