Spot Weld Or MIG Weld: Which Is Better For All The Repairs Needed To The Vice Grip Garbage Camaro Project?

In this update you’ll see just how far this former parts car has come, and actually see parts going back on it for the first time! New parts is exciting, but new ways to attach them might be even more exciting. Check out Kevin working with a new spot welder.

The Garbage Camaro is back with another update. Like we’ve said before, it’s fixable, but man is it going to take some work. Kevin keeps saying he loves this car even though it is a ton of work, but I’m starting to question his sanity since he also is saying that the car is trying to kill him. Well now he’s drug someone else into the build as he’s invited Kiwi to come help him out. Check out this update and let us know what you think.

Not long ago, Kevin Tetz and Derek Bieri made a deal that put one of Derek’s old 2nd Gen Camaros in the hands of Kevin, a seasoned veteran of many restorations. He has big plans for the Camaro, but first it is going to need a lot of sheet metal work. This thing is rough. Rough enough that many people would walk away from a project car like this. But not Kevin. He’s built his fair share of 2nd Gen Camaros and knows what needs doing on them. So check out this one here and let us know if you would touch it.

Video Description:

DIY Spot Welding? I accidentally bought a spot welder and put it to work! The results are amazing! BONUS, we figure out a legit way to protect inner panels that are welded together. ‪@autometaldirect‬ Sheet metal has great E-Coat primer, why not keep it on the panel? This is also a great milestone in the Garbage Camaro restoration, where we actually weld something back in to the car! trunk floor on a Second Gen Camaro is huge! This one we got from Derek from ‪@ViceGripGarage‬ needed serious help, ( and alot of metal) and since we’re also restyling it as a 1970, there’s already a ton of welding to do. Any time I can save I’m able to put it somewhere else!! Thanks for being a part of this process!!!
