It sounds crazy to be making an English Wheel from a C-Clamp, or G-Clamp as Metal Shaper Tom calls it in this video, but that is exactly what he’s going to do. No, it won’t be a giant English Wheel that you would use for shaping large panels, but if you are looking to make small patch panels, or just to learn what the process is, this might be the perfect first English Wheel for you. I’ve always wanted to build one, but I never considered something this small. I dig it and love the thought process.
In this video, Tom is going to walk you through the entire build process and this is a pretty low-cost tool hack. Everything you need to know so you can build your own is right here. And the cool thing is that this tool just mounts up in your vice so you don’t have it taking up space when not using it.
