Who Makes The Best Utility Knife? Let’s Find Out! Milwaukee, DeWalt, Gerber, Husky, Kobalt, Klein Tools, Craftsman

It seems like everyone either carries some kind of flip-out knife on their belt or clipped to their pocket nowadays as cutting open boxes in the shop, opening packages, etc is a daily ritual. So who makes the good ones? With lots of folding knives, the quality is all over the place, as people buy whatever is cheap and cool looking. But for those that prefer a folding utility knife that uses razor-type blades, this video test is for you. Project Farm is doing all the testing and as usual is being very very thorough. So watch the video and use the info so you can buy the right tool next time you need one.

I know I’ve bought plenty of crappy utility knives in the past, usually from the discount or big box store, because I needed one quick and didn’t look for one that was nice. Hell, when I have spent real money on one they usually don’t last either. The folding mechanism sucks, or they corrode or whatever. So lets see if the video helps.

Video Description:

Brands: Klein Tools, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Klein Tools, Sheffield, Kobalt, Fiskars, CAT, Irwin, Craftsman, Stanley Fatmax, Crescent, Husky, Gerber, DeWalt, Black and Decker. Utility knives tested for comfort, blade storage capacity, blade change efficiency, force to extend knife into open position, force to release handle, force to unlock knive, force to slide retractable blade, blade slop, knife lock failure load, and belt clip holding strength.
