That Ain’t Right…Yet It Is: That’s A Coyote-Swapped Taurus SHO Rolling The Dyno!

Remember when the “flying potato” Ford Taurus was freaking everywhere? You could pick up a rock and throw it when I was in grade school and hit one, maybe even two of these cars when I was in fourth grade. I won’t actually admit that I did that, but it was very possible. Then everybody fell in love with Explorers and other sport-utility vehicles and the Taurus got shipped down the line as a second car, then the used-lot special, and now they are starting to make some kind of strange comeback. Mostly it’s the SHO Taurus, the Yamaha-engined hot rod version that was a pretty potent package back in the day. We’ve seen these front-drivers as mild track cars to all-out speed racers and just about everything in between.

What we haven’t seen, however, is one swapped to rear-drive and repowered using a Coyote 5.0. We know little about this car other than it’s putting out 375 RWHP, a pretty typical number for a stock Coyote. We don’t know where this is at, so if someone in a silver SHO pulls up wanting a race, you better have your program ready to go, otherwise you’ll be in for one nasty shock. And to the owner and builder of the car…congratulations, you just won the creativity award for the week. Good lord.

(Thanks to Cody McCormick for the tip!)
